The electrics will be laid out like this:-
ORP12 is a light dependant resistor in quite a large plastic case. It's response isn't linear, but this is not an issue as we will not be measuring the actual light level inside the integrating sphere but rather an instantaneous value. It should be okay as long as it can be repeated with some certainty.
The LED inside the integrating sphere is governed by an external resistor. It is this resistor's value that will be determined experimentally in order to maximise image noise within the web cam.
The whole circuit is powered by a 5V linear regulator as suites the web cam. We hope that Paul has ensured enough heat sinking for this regulator as it might dissipate 2.1W. We can always adjust the air conditioning within our command centre.
